Explore the life of the people who lived almost 2000 years ago on the border between the Roman Empire and the Germanic tribes.
On over 1000 square meters, we show finds from the North Baden area, including the Odenwald Limes and the Front Limes.
The museum includes finds from the North Baden area, including the Odenwald Limes and the Vordere Limes. The museum is divided into three sections – Romans and Teutons at the Limes, Roman Religion and Archaeological Methods. You can also see the covered Roman bath and the replica of the beneficiary consecration district. In the Limes park you can see the ruins of the Roman fort, where the head-height walls bear witness to the fortifications. Approximately one kilometre to the south you‘ll find a replica of a watchtower and further information on the Limes. On a circular trail you can see the remains of the border wall.
