Is it the historical roots that make Dieburg so interesting?

Under the Roman Emperor Hadrian, Dieburg was the administrative capital of the region. In 1277, Rudolf von Habsburg granted the city extended rights and less than fifty years later it passed to the Archbishop of the Electoral Palatinate and became a cultural and economic stronghold. Today Diesburg retains much of its historic past in the form of city walls and towers, the medieval market place, churches, castles and half-timbered houses. Archaeological finds can be seen in the Fechenbach Castle Museum. Tours of the city, castle gardens and mills are available.

Das heutige Museumsstellwerk am Bahnhof Reinheim wurde 1896 erbaut und diente über viele Jahre dem Bahnbetrieb auf der Odenwaldbahn. Die Mitglieder des Museumsstellwerk Reinheim e.V. haben sich dem Erhalt des alten Gebäudes sowie der Stellwerkstechnik verschrieben und öffnen das Stellwerk regelmäßig für Besucher. An diesen Tagen wird das Stellwerk vorgeführt, wobei Groß und Klein die Gelegenheit nutzen können, sich selbst einmal als Fahrdienstleiter zu versuchen. Wer sich über die Geschichte des Eisenbahnbetriebs und die Funktionsweise der Technik informieren möchte, kann an einer Stellwerksführung teilnehmen oder sich mit Fragen ganz individuell an die Vereinsmitglieder wenden.
